Hello, my friend!
I hope you’re having a wonderful week! I just put my baby down for his nap after a fun morning of gymnastics, homeschool, Tinkerbell stories (my kids are really into those right now!), and outside exploration (my baby boy could happily live out there and never come in, I think! Considering renaming him Mowgli…)
Okay, on with this week’s Top Four!
LIVING TO THE FULL
“A dead thing can go with the stream, but only a living thing can go against it.” – G.K. Chesterton
QUESTION: Do you feel like life is carrying you along in its current, or that you’re living with energy, will, and conviction?
MINDING YOUR MOOD
“Don’t ruminate, activate.
“I find it is difficult to think my way into a better mood. When I sit and stew, the problem usually grows larger in my mind.
“But if I activate — even if it’s unrelated to the problem at hand — my mood tends to improve. Action breaks the spell. Move your body, go outside, play an instrument, work in a different room, do something.
Movement changes your state. And when your state changes, your perspective changes. New solutions appear. You notice options that were invisible when your mind was stuck running the same loop.” – James Clear
DISCIPLINE PRECEDES INSPIRATION
“Inspiration is a guest that does not willingly visit the lazy.” – Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky
LOVE SPEAKS TRUTH
“Dear Fritz, please don’t think me inconsiderate. Being hard is far more difficult than turning soft.” – Sophie Scholl, from At the Heart of the White Rose
MEME TIME!
I’m excited to introduce a new silly segment to my weekly email…an EXPLANATION-LESS MEME! Or maybe multiple memes…depending on my level of self-control in any given week 🙂
I hope you enjoy the inaugural Explanation-less Meme!
