What I’m Into This Spring

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”

― Rainer Maria Rilke

Hello, my friend, and dare I say, Hoppy April! I hope you and yours are doing great and feeling healthy and at peace.

I thought in this email, I’d share a few new-to-me things I’ve been enjoying and that have made life either a bit healthier and a bit more pleasant! I hope you enjoy!

1. Waldorf Book of Poetry

Even though my 3-year-old is a little too young for this book (well, only because it isn’t illustrated!), I bought it for him while it was on my radar! It is chock-full of beautifully rich and vivid poetry (400+ poems!)  geared toward children, but that you will surely enjoy as well! This is from the summary: “Readers will experience poetry like never before as it opens doors to ancient cultures, faraway places, the seasons and rhythms of the year, and the wonder of plants, animals, and nature.” You can check it out here!

 2. Juice Beauty Tinted Moisturizer

The older I get, the more conscious I seem to be of buying products that aren’t, well, junk! We all know junk food isn’t good for us, but many of us don’t realize that what we put on our skin and hair can be just as detrimental to our health. Juice Beauty is an all-natural, cruelty-free, organic, and sustainably packaged line of makeup and skincare that I absolutely adore. This particular product is a must, in my opinion, for sunny spring and summer days. You can learn more about it here!

3. Boka Toothpaste

There’s an awesome dentist I follow by the name of Dr. Mark Burhenne (you can find him here or on Instagram @askthedentist), and I can honestly say he has revolutionized my thinking on oral health and hygiene! He introduced me to a little ingredient called nano-hydroxyapatite that is far more effective, and far safer, than fluoride when it comes to strengthening and restoring tooth enamel and allaying sensitivity. Check it out here!

4. Spindrift Sparkling Water

One thing I’m becoming increasingly aware of/concerned by is the use of “natural flavors” in so many so-called “health foods.” Did you know natural flavors are 90% chemical junk? Or that they’re basically edible perfumes? Or that they’re carefully designed to be addictive? Or that the FDA frequently allows companies to develop their own flavors without providing oversight or safety reviews of their chemical concentrations? One of the many reasons I love Spindrift is because it’s free of “natural flavors” and only contains real fruit plus water! Check it out, and be refreshed, here!

5. Mama Joe’s Half-Caff Coffee

I’ve been trying to go lighter on my caffeine lately, but also don’t want to sacrifice taste! This coffee, which is as clean as it gets, is absolutely delicious. My husband Ben made it for me as a cold brew recently and it was so smooth and rich! Check it out here!
