Infertility and Miscarriages, Making > Winning, the Path to Maturity, & MORE

Hello, my friend!

I hope you’re having a wonderful week, and if you and/or your family are on Spring Break, that you’ve been able to get outside and enjoy God’s creation!

I was out with my daughter (15 months) this morning for an hour and half and was greatly entertained observing her adorable, albeit nonsensical (at least to me…), acts of focused and uninterrupted busyness.

She was playing with four things, mainly: a bubble wand, the dogs’ food and water bowls, and the dogs’ tub where they laze like pigs when it’s hot outside (which is like 340 days out of the year here in south Texas). She would spend a few moments stirring the water with the wand and poking at various bits of leaves and soggy dog food inside. Then she’d hurry over to the food bowl, pick up a few bits of kibble and transport them into the tub. Then she’d frantically look around in search of the bubble wand, find it, then hustle back to the water bowl to continue stirring and laughing whenever one of the giant schnauzers came over to lap up a drink and slime her face with a sloppy dog kiss.

It was all just delightful. I didn’t have my phone on me, but I halfway wish I’d had it because I would have loved a photo of her dirt-caked fingernails and leaf-and-twig-covered diaper!

Have you read any good books lately? Having completed the Anne of Green Gables series, I’m currently reading a biography on its author, L.M. Montgomery, someone with whom I’m sure I would have been a “kindred spirit” were we contemporaries! Reading about her life has further stoked my desire to one day visit her picturesque homeland of Prince Edward Island.

In other book news, my comedic fantasy, The God Next Door, will be coming out in just a few short weeks! There’s still time to be an advanced reader and receive a free digital and paperback copy of the book, so please let me know if you’d like to read it! You can email me at diana.tyler86@gmail.com with “ARC” (which stands for “advanced reader copy”) in the Subject line. You can also pre-order the digital book HERE.

Alrighty, jumping into this week’s Top 4!

ASK BETTER QUESTIONS:

“The questions you ask yourself will largely determine the answers you get. ‘Why am I not successful?’ You’ll get answers that berate you. ‘How can I succeed here?’ You’ll get answers that push you.” – Executive performance coach Julie Gurner

MAKING > WINNING

“There is no win and no fail. There is only make.” – Artist and educator Corita Kent

Be it a note of encouragement for a friend, a doodle for yourself, a home-cooked meal for your loved ones, a napkin-scribbled haiku for absolutely no one, a pot of coffee for a co-worker, a list of prayer requests to lift up to the Lord…what have you made lately?

THE PATH TO SPIRITUAL MATURITY

“You will never become spiritually mature unless you develop endurance, and you can only develop endurance as you persevere in faith through painful experiences.” – Pastor John MacArthur

THE GOODNESS OF GOD IN INFERTILITY AND PREGNANCY LOSS

My latest podcast episode (about 20 minutes long) explores a topic that is very near and dear to my mama-bear heart: pregnancy loss and infertility. If you know someone who has struggled with either of these, please share this with them. Here’s the link.
