Top Inspo for 2026

Happy, New Year, my friend!

I hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hannukah celebration with your loved ones.

My sweet little family of five celebrated with a few new traditions (Rudolph pancakes, gnome-led stocking hunts, a family-penned Christmas poem, Charlie Brown Christmas movie, and a heart-centering, pre-presents-opening prayer, to name a few) and had a blast opening many a gift related to Frozen, unicorns, fossils, and insects!

My six-year-old’s favorite present was an aluminum anthill casting that I found on Etsy (the Internet literally has everything!). My daughter’s been loving her Elsa and Rapunzel headband braids and Frozen tea set, along with a super snuggly unicorn Warmie from her Baba (my mom). My 14-month-old got a few things, including a hovering soccer ball toy and eating and pooping, wooden pull-along puppy, but his favorite things to play with (or more accurately, on and under and through…) lately are our tried-and-true Nugget play sofas, which we’ve had since our oldest was two. Seriously, if you have children ages six and younger, I highly recommend them!

Okay, time to kick off 2026 with some New Yearsy inspo. I hope you enjoy it!

LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD AND REFINE YOUR FOCUS IN 2026

“Greatness takes guts. And often, it’s the courage to eliminate the things you can do fairly well so you have the capacity to do one thing exceptionally well. Have the courage to take more off your plate.” – James Clear

HAVE A DAILY DIGITAL DETOX IN 2026

Set an alarm for the same time every day to remind you to put away your phone for at least 30 minutes. Use the time to pursue something that refreshes you, like journaling, working a puzzle, reading, praying, songwriting, stretching, walking, playing with your pets, watering your plants…

With time, you’ll undoubtedly feel the pull of your phone growing weaker and weaker and the desire to extend the phone-free time stronger and stronger.

BE A PEACEMAKER IN 2026

“How could you go about creating a happy, loving, peaceful world? By learning a simple, beautiful, but painful art called the art of looking. This is how you do it: Every time you find yourself irritated or angry with someone, the one to look at is not that person but yourself. The question to ask is not, ‘What’s wrong with this person?’ but ‘What does this irritation tell me about myself?’” – Anthony De Mello

APPRECIATE RIGHT NOW IN 2026

“If you’re 37, instead of regretting that you can’t wake up age 18 again, pretend to yourself that you’re 90 and you’ve woken up age 37 again, and that you get to magically, wonderfully have the next 50 years again.” – Unknown

See you next time!
